Value added & retaining value
‘Adding value’ is currently the buzz word in many food supply chains and locally focussed projects. However, adding value is possibly the easiest part. Retaining a proportion of the value that has been added is often more difficult. Understanding the differences between the type of supply chain, viewing the value chain as an end-to-end process, provides ways to capture more of the value.
