Whole Supply Chains

There is a considerable amount in the media and industry about supply chains. This is particularly true about agri-food supply chains.

However, the reality is often not of chain but only the individual links. i.e. Supply Chain Managers often are involved in procurement or ensuring sale to a client or customer. Rarely are they trying to manage the whole chain.

Quantech Solutions provide a different view. We see the supply chain as a whole chain - an end to end process. This perspective we believe is important it is the overall synergies, efficiencies and effectiveness that are important to achieveing a sustainable and competitive supply chain advantage for each player in the chain.

We also see that the chain metaphor does not help in visualising collaboration with a value stream. To the right the supply chain is shown as links that intersect.  This intersection shows the area of collaboration between producers, manufacturers and retailers.

For local food producers, processors and the regional food groups increasing these areas of collaboration and learning are important.  Quantech Solutions provides advice in improving collaboration, utilises tools such as Appreciative Inquiry to enhance supply chain learning and collaboration.
